New Sculpture at Palace of Wonder

On Thursday, the newest sculture was unveiled at the Palace of Wonder, complementing a growing sculpture garden created by UK-resident, Joe Rush and his 1980's collective, Mutoid Waste Company. Rush explains that all of his materials- mostly discarded auto parts- a brought over in one 20-foot container, and assembled just 10 days before the festival begins.
Previous works in the area include a tree crafted entirely from junkyard auto mufflers (a creation he says was a collaborateive project) and perhaps this best this work pictured here, representing a giant wasp snatching a car. In case you were wondering, the billowing body of the wasp is powered by a simple battery and a fan which fills the parachute-like material of hte wasp's body. Thank's to Joe and the rest of his crew, the Palace of Wonder is inspiring lots of creativity, and a useful existence for somethings that could be otherwise discarded as junk.
Some volunteers were putting the final touches, dare we say flames on tents in the Palace of Wonder.
And tonight
